Jin Dashou was a Buddhist painter in Ningbo, Zhejiang during the Southern Song Dynasty. Each painting in this painting is inscribed "On the west side of Cheqiao, Mingzhou, Song Dynasty, and Dashoubi, Jin Dashou". It was painted before the first year of Qingyuan (1195). Ningbo was called "Mingzhou" at that time. It is the earliest existing Buddhist painting in Zhejiang. famous for his works. The Arhat painted by Jin Dashou is restrained in brush strokes and accurately grasped in shape. The coloring is also skillful in using intermediate colors and adopts a coordinated and natural expression technique. It is also a masterpiece among the Arhat paintings painted in Ningbo. 10 pieces from the collection of Tokyo National Museum.
